Guided Horseback Rides

Come Ride with Us!

This hour-long ride begins at the Hidden Passage Guest Ranch stables. We’ll ride through the high desert where you’ll see wildlife, a bounty of nature and amazing panoramic views. We stop for several photo opportunities along the route.

We have structured this ride to comply with Covid-19 requirements and appreciate your respect for our new and current policies. Please wear a mask upon your arrival (it may be removed while in the open on the ride.) Also, please remember to social distance as you fill out your paperwork and meet your horse. We’ll help you mount your horse and give you a basic horseback riding tutorial before heading out on the trail.

All equipment that you will be touching on the horse (reins and saddle) is sanitized between each ride with appropriate cleaning products as suggested by the CDC.

Reviews

“We had a lovely time horse back riding. Our host made it so easy and their horses were so well mannered. Very first-time rider friendly. The trail was absolutely beautiful. Some good chatting with the host, still with enough time to just be quiet and take in nature.” – Michaela

“I really enjoyed the Airbnb horseback riding experience. It far exceeded my expectations and I didn’t want it to end! Our guide was really friendly and made my fiancée and I feel super comfortable. If you are looking for a chance to enjoy nature this is for you. I would definitely do this again!! I left wanting to go out and buy a horse. :)” – Ron

Meet the Horses

Dakota

Breed: Quarter Horse/ Paint Horse

Color: Black

Age: 16

Owners: Payge & Joe

Though I have no spots, I am a registered Paint horse because both of my bloodlines. My new hairstyle is a mohawk because I used to rub my mane off. I am the youngest of my brothers but I am the boss and like to hog all the hay. I was born in North Dakota and lived with Payge in Alabama, Kentucky, Texas and Minnesota before moving to California. I will bow down for a treat- ask my mom to show you!

Timmy

Breed: Quarter Horse

Color: Chestnut

Age: 21

Owners: Payge & Joe

I am the redhead of the group and also the tallest. I have been in southern California my entire life. I love going out on the trails with my brothers, stopping to take in the view is my favorite part. I love all kinds of treats, but my favorite is carrots… when I see them I usually nod my head “yes” to let you know you should give them all to me. I also love apples but I find them hard to eat and I always drop them

Buddy

Breed: Quarter Horse

Color: Black

Age: 20

Owners: Payge & Joe

Most of my life I lived on a llama farm in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Growing up, my best friend was a llama named Oreo. My new best friend is Timmy, I follow him around like a puppy. I have very sensitive eyes so I am usually wearing a fly mask. Dakota and I are both black, but you can tell us apart because I have longer hair and a white spot on my back. I am very demanding of treats, and paw at the ground when I feel like I am being skimped on treats!
